Another GO contest....closes today.....Aug. 27th...

http://www.freckledwhimsy.com/
This is the blog site of another Gal giving away a GO cutter.  I entered it...but as I told my sewing sisters in QCG (QUILTERS CORNER GROUP..)  I never win anything......Wouldn't it be funny if I won more than one GO cutter?  I would have to have a contest of my own...(giggles)...
Really...I wouldn't mind having a GO, just to tote along with me whan I babysit my Grands....I could cut my scrap heap into squares, tumblers, and Sun Bonnet Sues..... Why don't you go visit the ACCUCUT site and check out their fabric cutters.....??
This little raggy quilt was cut with the 8 1/2" raggy die and embelished with raggy hearts.  It's a favorite of my Grandaughters Alex Ann and Elizabeth.  Eazy-peazy !!!

FALL FABRIC TUMBLER TABLE RUNNER....Using my Studio cutter, and the large tumbler block, I cut 24 quilt shop quality fabrics into stacks and stacks of pieces.  I used 24 pieces to make this table runner. The finished piece measures about 36" X 21".  It went together "Lickety-Split"  I did set up a 1/4" seam guide.  The die cuts the corners off...so you just match up the pieces...and GO.
I cut do many tumblers that I decided to make some kits, and offer them in my ETSY shop tomorrow...
The back of the table runner is just as much fun as the front...

I used a quilt shop quality fabric, right off the bolt.  It is kind of vintage looking...love, love. love those dancing pumpking guys.
Here is a stack of die cut TUMBLER PIECES.  I used 24 different good quality fabrics, adding 6 extra pieces to this kit.

I really love the size of this die cut...and love the fact that the corners are already cut off.

Do you have 24 different fall fabrics in your fabric stash?  If not....perhaps you would like to buy this kit...30 tumbler pieces and vintage looking backing fabric from my etsy store...FABRICFROG...I'll put a link in...to make it easy for you.

It's so 'fall-like' here today, I thought I'd share a recent photo of The Yorktown General Store.
We ran the store for many years, then closed it as we went back to school and on to other jobs...Then, a few years ago, we reopened it.  We had general gift items, mostly country stuff, stained glass made by son Jon, country furniture made by son Jeff, hand tied fishing lures made by son Andrew...and fabric and patterns.  Well, the location is quite "out of the way...and local people would rather buy their fabric at Wallyworld...so business was not as we had hoped...  Now, one of our sons lives in the building, and the yard never looked better...I swiped some tomatoes from his garden today...mmmm good with our tacos.
It's going to be down in the 50's tonight, great sleeping weather..
I've entered a contest to win a GO fabric cutter, made by Accuquilt, on this website.. http://cvquiltworks.blogspot.com/2010/08/its-go-giveaway.html.  I would love to be able to take the GO with me when I go babysit my grandkids...  and it would be wonderful to use it to cut my scrap pile into tumblers and charm squares.....wish me luck.

Here's a little purse I've been working on.   I dipped into my cowboy fabric stash. The pattern is called GIRLS NIGHT OUT.     I fussy cut the boots...so they would be placed  just so..!!   The back is pieced also.   Inside, I used the pockets from a pair of jeans to make .....pockets !!  This was an easy project...once I got the fussy cutting done.                         Today, I worked on a table runner in fall colors.....24 different fabrics, cut on the STUDIO Accucut fabric cutter.....The die I used was the large tumbler.  It's great, because the corners are already cut off...and the sewing goes real fast.  I did have to set up a 1/4" guide..to help me keep all the seams the right size....I tend to go to 1/2" if I don't watch it !!!     I'll post photos of the table runner tomorrow......Somehow.... when I am in the sewing clubhouse the camera is up here at the farm house....and vise versa.......
